PEnGUInFor those not familiar with it, PEnGUIn is a PMP encoder software by La'Fear for the Mac OS X. And this certain application he's just released is actually a nethostfs. It's based on Ahman's source code for the irshell for the PC.

PEnGUIn(Host) is the third part of the PEnGUIn ToolKit and here's his notes on the readme:
  1. For the first launching, press set button to select the directory for share.
  2. Press Start button to enable wireless sharing.
  3. Only support IRShell 2.1 & 2.2.
In the download below, we've also included his Quick Guide to the movie encoder that he's made. Everything is still in development, but we're just thankful that people are putting up these kinds of stuff, especially for the Mac OS X.

Bitrocket

Last week we reported a review of 5 BitTorrent clients that supported Mac OSX, with the results pretty inconclusive. There wasn't any super Mac OSX torrent clients that really stood out, and hopefully this latest program called 'BitRocket' should be much better. The feature list is very impressive, with the User Interface along featuring:
  • RSS support (Download .torrent's from within the application)
  • Integrated (Customizable) Search Engine
  • Flexible Filtering
  • Torrent Generator
  • Live Info View
  • UPnP and NAT-PMP Port Forwarding
Some Mac users may not know why they would need a Bittorrent client, but if you think about it, the uses are endless. Whenever you need to send some files to someone else, particularly a large file such as a home movie or family photographs from a recent holiday, you simply generate a torrent file, send them the file (which is very small) via an IM client or email and then let them download from you in real-time.

Not only does this mean that they can usually get much better speeds than downloading an attachment, they can pause, stop and resume the file when they wish. No excuses for 56k users! Beware though, this client has a maximum file transfer size of 2GB, so don't try sharing files over that size.
