Mac G3First, let's get everybody up and running on the concept of abandonware. Abandonware is commercial software that has been discontinued by the publisher and are not sold or supported anymore. Of course, that means most abandonware is old, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

If you're in the mood for some retro Mac gaming, then you might want to check out the Macintosh garden, a website dedicated to preserving abandonware games for the Mac.

Right now, the Macintosh Garden has a whopping 819 games available for download, including a whole host of After dark titles, Indiana Jones games, and the classic Secret of Monkey Island as well as its sequel.

All of the games available at the Macintosh Garden are virus-tested and compressed in Stuffit .sit format. Click on the "via" link below to check out the games there.
