Macworld is reporting that Adobe will be moving its Photoshop image manipulation software online. Adobe has confirmed that they'll be bringing an online version of Photoshop, known as Photoshop Express, to the internet loving masses by the end of year, and will develop an full version of Photoshop Express in 2008.

Take a very good look at the keyboard pictured above this article, and see if you can spot if it's a fake or not. Allegedly, it's the super-slim, brushed-aluminum keyboard that's rumored to be bundled with Apple's latest iMac computer.

While it does fit the much-speculated features, that being absurdly thin and sleek (as well as having that distinct Apple look of simplicity and elegance), the fact that 'Photoshop' is practically screaming out from the photo's exif data isn't helping its authenticity much. Still, it's quite pretty, isn't it?

Fake or not, though, it seems that someone in the Rhapsody Apple forum in Hong Kong is more than willing to sell you one of these suspicious beauties for HK $1200 a pop (that's US$ 153.40). Potential buyers should perhaps exhibit some self-control, though, as the new iMac itself could be blasting onto store shelves as early as August 7th, so it's not really that long a wait.

We'll also see if this is the real deal by then. Updates as we get them!

Most people would rely on Photoshop to create or customize pictures and images. MS Paint, well you could use them to get a screencap or use them to resize images. Well, a user may just prove you wrong. He (or she) managed to draw an almost perfect Apple iPod, which is complete with shadows, breaks, and all that jazz. The finish product looks like this:

It may have been slightly pre-empted by Amazon, but Adobe has finally formally announced Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended.

 

According to MacNN, the upcoming Photoshop CS3 is called a "major upgrade," coming with new innovations in editing power and productivity for designers and photographers. An entirely new version, Photoshop CS3 Extended, also has valuable tools for 3D, motion graphics, image measurement and analysis for professionals.

Consumers can get Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended as stand-alone applications or as part of the expanded Adobe Creative Suite 3. Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended will begin shipping in April to customers in the United States and Canada. The former carries an estimated street price of US$ 650, with upgrades going for US$ 200. The latter, meanwhile, will go for an estimated price of US$ 1000, with upgrades starting at US$ 350.

Adobe announced today that it will be offering not one, but TWO editions of Adobe Photoshop CS3. In addition to the normal Photoshop CS3 software, Adobe will also be offering Photoshop CS3 Extended.

This new edition will add a new set of capabilities for integration of 3-D and motion graphics, image measurement and analysis.

"We never imagined that Photoshop would someday help make major motion pictures, let alone save lives," said John Loiacono, senior vice president of the Creative Solutions Business Unit at Adobe.

"Whether it's a video producer texture editing the backdrop of a movie or a researcher counting hundreds of cancer cells, diverse industries are already relying on the professional standard in digital imaging."

Both versions of Photoshop CS3 will make their formal debut on March 27 at Adobe's launch of Creative Suite 3. For more info on the Extended version, check out the product page on the official Adobe website.

Think Secret's Secret Notes section reports that sources "familiar" with the development of Photoshop CS3 have revealed that Adobe has sped up the release of the development builds and that a ship date as early as the end of March could very well happen. Secret Notes also says that an unconfirmed report - based on "internal communications" - puts the release at a much more specific date: March 27.

The rumored March release neatly coincides with the release of Apple's Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, there has still been no word so far if Photoshop CS3 will be taking advantage of Leopard-dependent technologies. Speculators have also pointed towards cross-marketing opportunities between Apple and Adobe as a reason for the rumored March release of Photoshop CS3.

While a release on or near Leopard's is indeed likely (Adobe has always released Mac versions first, after all), we caution everyone, especially those waiting desperately for CS3, to take this with a grain of salt. I personally can't wait, actually. I haven't tried CS3 yet, but I've heard that it has some great improvements in speed over CS2.

As to how and why someone would create a casing for something that hasn't even been released yet totally escapes us. But there you have it: coming in as probably the first ever iPhone accessory, Incipio's iPhone Zipper Case has just been unveiled.

Their line-up includes three accessories: a zipper case, flip case, and horizontal carrying pouch. All of them are made of black leather and cost US$ 14.99. The above images are an artist's rendition only, of course. Seems like someone did a good job on Photoshop.

Personally, I'm not one to buy something that's for a device that I don't have (yet), but you gotta hand it to the guys at Incipio. They're pulling out all stops to be the first in the iPhone accessory game field. Props to them for being first post. Wo0t.

For those who use a Mac, chances are, you're using it for digital art - desktop publishing, video creation and manipulation, website design, etc. Now, you can't talk about graphics design without ever touching on one of the industry's software giants Adobe. Their Creative Suite is one of the most used application packages out in the market.

Their latest: CS3. It's coming out this March, but the good news is, Adobe will be rolling out a beta edition of Photoshop CS3 for download this Friday on the Adobe Labs website. You guys can test it out and get your hands dirty with the next generation in photo editing software. The beta will include Adobe Bridge and Device Central components for both Mac and PC operating systems. While it has been confirmed that Photoshop CS3 will be a Universal Binary, they say that the beta will be the standard version only.

No problems with that. At least we get to test it out. Some of you not in the graphics design industry might also be excited to hear that Adobe is developing an "Advanced" version of Photoshop CS3 which will be geared more towards the video and science markets - those that require enhanced capabilities with specialized images.

As for the other applications in the CS3 package (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Go Live, etc.), Adobe still won't come out with specific details. Fair enough. At least a beta edition of Photoshop CS3 is here to tide over the wait.

A lot of great things has been said about Mac products: they're innovative, great, and all that. But a great product is useless if the user doesn't live up to his end of the bargain (such as not installing a decent anti-virus or cluttering your RAM with useless apps). Anyhow, we're deviating from the topic here, someone over at MadMac did a little investigative report on the top 10 Mac memory hoggers. Here are the apps that made that list:

These are averages, so others who might snoop about it might get a different result. If you noticed, most of these applications are Apple's own apps. All of them are very powerful and useful products, but then again, power does come with a price and in this case, the price you have to pay is the massive memory space it'll occupy. This doesn't make the Mac bad because if you think of it, Photoshop on Windows would probably use up a lot of memory too. Maybe Apple should give more RAM with their new line of computers.

Let's face it; not every house in the world has a modem yet. But naturally, I was shocked when I found out that my vacation house in southern France had no phone or Internet connection at all. How the hell was I supposed to fill in those two weeks without surfing the web? Luckily my MacBook was brand new, so I had some stuff to check out, but obviously that wasn't going to last for a long time.

I guess that if you own a MacBook yourself, you've found out that it's loaded with features. And after I watched a bunch of movies I put on it a week before my arrival at the house, I just went searching for stuff I had not discovered yet in the Tiger OS. Well I definitely had fun with Photo Booth, although it's kind of sad to sit there making strange faces of yourself.

Then there's GarageBand. I must say I didn't really know what it was at first (I thought it was a program to make notes compose your classical music or something), so it really surprised me it was the way it was. Well... it didn't take me too long to find out I sucked at that stuff, so I abandoned it more or less.

Oh and the fun I had with the dictionary widget! I looked up some English words I didn't quite understand (I'm Dutch, give me a break), and now I know them. Handy! But that was about the only useful widget as the other ones required a connection. I had the usual fun with Photoshop CS2 but it wasn't quite as fun when you can't take pictures from the web. Also, I hoped 203 songs and a couple of (video) podcasts in iTunes were enough for two weeks. Sadly, I got bored with all of them after a while, so I had to make my own tracks in GarageBand... and they were crap.

Of course I pretty much knew there wasn't a modem in my house, but surely one of the neighbours has a unsecured wireless connection? Okay, there was one, but it was WAP protected. Too bad. After a while I gave up. I went to the pool and to McDonald's.

So kids, always check whether your new house in the mountains has a connection. If not, you better start "borrowing" some movies while you still can.
