Incredible! Kevin Khandjian of Orlando, Florida, managed to get a full
refund from an iTunes download! Kevin had downloaded a season of
Chappelle's Show for his iPod and, to his amazement, it was full of ads
and ridiculous previews! He contacted the Apple, and they sent him to
the 'Help and Support' section of the iTunes website. Over the course
of the next four days, he emailed back and forth with people from Apple
about their 'all sales final' policy. Despite the representatives
insistence that no refunds were given, he fought on. After five
grueling days, he received the following email (some parts were removed
to save space because they were irrellevant):Dear Kevin, Thank you for your patience as we investigated this matter. I have refunded your account $21.99 plus any applicable taxes. The credit should be posted within 3-5 business days. Please do not repurchase this show in the next two weeks. This will give us time to resolve the issue with the title or remove it, if needed. Sincerely, Jesse The iTunes Music Store team http://www.apple.com/support/iTunes/ww/ Victory! Kevin received the payment for the episodes he bought, and plans to buy the DVD instead. He got the non-refundable refund! Kevin could've bought the full season DVD from Amazon for nearly five bucks cheaper, ad-free. Hopefully "resolve the issue with the title" means "remove the ads and give you what you paid for". We'll see in the future! Anyone out there had a similar experience? Let us know! |

Take it from Colorado Rockies pitcher Jason Jennings, an iPod can help improve your game. The Rockies' video staff has downloaded footage of every Florida Marlin's hitter into his iPod video, for him to figure out how to pitch to them."It's a good way to refresh yourself on how you got guys out," Jennings said. "It's an amazing concept." Although videos have long been used in the league, to help players study their opponents moves, some people are still skeptics for this kind of technology. New York Mets manager Willie Randolph doesn't have a problem with a player analyzing video, but it wouldn't have been for him. Randolph, a former All-Star, preferred extra batting practice to extra film sessions. "I think it's overrated personally, but that's just me," Randolph said. "I'm from a different school." So far the Rockies, have downloaded video clips into the iPods of 14 of their players and when on the road he compiles DVDs of their play and loads video onto the iPods when they return home. Florida pitcher Dontrelle Willis, sums it up when he said, "Anything you can do to help yourself get ready for (games) is a good idea." |

Sports buffs that take their 30-60GB iPod jogging should not worry about their own health but their iPods'. Justin Schero, a technology sales associate at the University of Florida Bookstore, said Apple doesn't sell the armband for the 30- and 60-gigabyte iPods because jogging with these models can damage them."It's not necessarily going to break it. It's going to wear it down real quick," Schero said. John K. Schueller, UF mechanical and aerospace engineering professor recommends the iPod shuffle and Nano as better exercise companions. He explains that since the Shuffle and the Nano are basically USB flash drives, without any movable parts unlike the 30-60GB iPods that have hard drives for memory storage. "The hard drive consists of a tiny head, which reads information on a spinning disc. Sharp movements can cause a skip while the song is playing. If it's shaken too much, the head may get too close or too far out of position, and that is when you have a skip." Schueller said.Leading sports brand Nike further increases the Nano's appeal by introducing the Nike+iPod Sport Kit due out on may 23, 2006 for $29.00. You put a sensor inside your shoe and the receiver connects to your iPod Nano and stores data on running time, distance, pace and calories burned. |

I am lucky enough to live in the great state of Florida, where hurricanes stop by each year around the same time to say a pleasant, "Hello." Yes, it becomes more and more endearing with every visit.2005 was no different. Hurricane Katrina whipped by on her way to New Orleans, but Hurricane Wilma hit dead-on. Without a power supply handy to power-up my iPod, I nearly died. Yes, the lack of running water and the desperate search for gas were bad, but didn't compare to not being able to listen to my iPod. Next year, I'm going to be prepared. Soldius1 is a device that powers the iPod using only direct sunlight. Even under cloudy days, the unit works great, according to reviewers. There's also a flashlight that lights up when you shake it, but my hand is reaching for the Soldius1. [Via, Indystar] |
