So you loved the first Guitar Hero games - and it's a bet we're willing to take that you're gonna love Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - and you grew attached to the soundtrack (from playing the level so many times) that you just have to have it. Well here's your chance to download the complete albums (plural, meaning from all the games) from the iTunes store.iTunes is now offering features tracks from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and finally, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Almost all the songs will be available, and a new version of Anarchy in the UK performed by the Sex pistols will also be downloadable as a separate track. The series will also feature custom-created playlists featuring tracks chosen by artist and by genre, including a guitar-themed playlist. The tracks are available through the iTunes Store, following the read link below. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) itself will be available on November 23 but you don't have to wait to listen to the soundtrack. |

IGN reports that an official PC and Mac version of Activision and Red Octane's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) is currently being readied by Aspyr Media for release this fall. The PC and Mac version of the latest installment in the popular rhythm game series is being developed and published exclusively by Aspyr Media. Gamers can expect the same gameplay and content found in the game's console versions. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the PC and Mac will come with more than 70 songs, unlockable content and a head-to-head multiplayer mode. The game will also include an online multiplayer mode so gamers can battle it out riff for riff against other PC and Mac gamers. System requirements as well as peripheral support details have yet to be revealed. The X-plorer guitar controller for Guitar Hero II's Xbox 360 version is already Windows XP and Vista compatible, though, so those who have that game probably won't have to buy another controller. Stay tuned for more news. |

There seems to be confusion with regards to publishing rights on id Software's upcoming Rage (PC, Mac OS X, PS3, Xbox 360). id Software's mainstay publisher is Activision, and many have assumed that they (Activision) will be the ones to release the game, especially its console versions. It turns out though that the publishing rights still haven't been determined. Shacknews was able to get a hold of Tom Hollensend of id during the QuakeCon. He clarified that no deals have been signed yet between id and Activision. Now, despite this, a non-existent deal doesn't directly and automatically mean that Activision won't publish it. There still is the chance. We're just hoping that they settle things already so that, finally, we get to even more footage of the game as it goes through development. |
