iPhone firmware 1.2 Beta: Safari image save function added - Image 1We may not be getting the iPhone's firmware 2.0 until June, but it looks like Apple's intent on making it worth the wait.

Word on the street is that the firmware's latest beta build will now enable users to save pictures straight from the handheld's Safari browser into their photo album.

Here's how it works (via Gizmodo): click and hold on any images that you wish  to save long enough to prompt your iPhone to save it. We'll leave it to you guys to figure out what sort of applications this could entail.

Good news aside, we do remind the users that this function's strictly in the beta build; Apple may add some additional tweaks in the months leading up to this firmware's public release. Feel free to visit us again in case more updates are announced regarding this matter.
