Screenshot of ProRemote v0.0.1 iPhone application in action - Image 1Touch technology can't probably get any better than Alex Lelievre's ProRemote application for the iPhone and iPod touch.

If you thought that controlling your iTunes interface through your iPhone was something then you'll be pleasantly surprised at how this application steps up the existing concept.

ProRemote hooks up with Pro Tools LE and actually allows you to control the audio settings on your Mac. ProRemote will be seeing more action next week as it finally goes beta.

While it currently only supports Mac servers, the developer plans on making a Windows port after perfecting the technology on the Mac. Lelievre describes the convenience of ProRemote with this simple statement:

By the time I have gotten up and walked over to my console 10 times to adjust the levels, I no longer want to play music. This software allows me to control my rig from the drums or my guitar setup and hopefully keep the music flowing.

But don't expect to see the final version of the software until the developer can get his hands on the native iPhone SDK and get an actual certification from the big-time mobile phone company.

Hopefully, Lelievre is looking into a late February release for the software and will price it at around US$ 150. If you're interested in reading the "techie" details of this nifty app, you can check out more of what the developer had to say through the "Via" link below.

In the meantime, why not take a look at ProRemote in action through the video we have below.
