Apple iPhone - Image 1Apple's much-awaited official iPhone and iPod Touch software development kit (SDK) is slated to go live this month, February 2008, but there's a possibility that it may get delayed for one to three weeks. According to Businessweek's Arik Hesseldahl, there's still no announcement made concerning a definite release date for the SDK, even though February is about to end in less than a week.

Hesseldahl also mentioned that while a source told him that the SDK will indeed be late, he also heard reports that the development of the SDK is going along smoothly. "A lot of last-minute decisions are close to being made about what precisely will or will not be disclosed next week," he wrote in his blog, Byte of the Apple.

One thing we know, however, is that whether or not the release of Apple's SDK gets delayed or not, third party developers will be waiting on tenterhooks, especially iPhone and iPod Touch product users eager to install and use third party applications to further enhance their Apple experience.
