iPhone Pwnage Tool - Image 1

The iPhone DevTeam, of iPhone 1.1.x Dual-Boot/Jailbreak fame, with some help from Wizdaz has announced the iPhone Pwnage Tool. Now, you can now load any firmware you want - even ones unsigned by Apple such as Linux.

Instead of running a jailbreak application such as iLibertyX, the iPhone Pwnage Tool allows you to pre-modify your firmware files to jailbreak them immediately. You can just restore a pre-jailbroken firmware onto your iPhone.

This can't be achieved previously because firmware files are encrypted, but apparently, it's been broken already. Now you can unlock any compatible cellphone network.

As for now, the iPhone Pwnage Tool is for Mac only. However, coder cmw offered his services to create a Windows port of the tool. It will be out in a few days according to the iPhone DevTeam.

In this preview video from Engadget, the iPhone Pwnage Tool unlocks a new 8GB iPhone and upgrades it to the 2.0 firmware. Check it out below.
