Attention iPhone and iPod touch users: a new firmware update has been released for both gadgets, promising to fix some of the bugs that plagued users upon the release of iPhone firmware 2.0. The iPhone 2.0.1 Software Update seems to pack a lot, weighing in at a formidable 242 mb. The contents of the firmware are yet to be determined, however.

If you have jailbroken or unlocked iPhones and plan to make them stay that way, it's better if you hold off from updating until there's a confirmation that it's jailbreak-safe or if the jailbreak can be restored with a later version.

Those interested in trying out the firmware can go ahead and download the iPhone 2.0.1 firmware update through iTunes.
