Custom iPhone ringtones - Image 1

iPhone users who are wary of upgrading to iPhone firmware 1.1.2, take heed: there's one good fix that is available with firmware version 1.1.2, and that is the return of custom ringtones.

According to tuaw blogger Erica Sadun, you can now use custom ringtones by getting an m4a music file and rename it's extension to m4r. Add it to iTunes, and then synch it to your iPhone. Voila! Custom ringtones for your iPhone.

We just hope that custom ringtones is now a permanent iPhone feature, and not a bug that usually happens when there's a firmware update, like wireless streaming to Bluetooth handsets.
