One of the main reasons why people choose to own an Apple iPhone is to able to easily connect with other people on the go. And homebrew developers manage to create more options to fulfill just that, by whipping up instant messaging applications. One such program is Alexander Chukov's iChabber.

Meant to support most popular instant messaging clients, iChabber currently only works with Google's Gtalk for now. But it's pretty much functional in its current state, with support for other chat clients sure to follow shortly.

If you want more alternatives for chatting on the iPhone aside from the usual meebo, you may want to give this homebrew a shot especially if you have an active Gtalk account. To install this program, simply add http://repo.ispazio.net to your iPhone's Installer application. Enjoy!
