Apple has just released the iMac Graphics Firmware Update 1.0. This patch updates the graphics firmware on the ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO cards and fixes the problems which causes iMacs to lock up/freeze. Reports of new iMac lockups have been streaming within the Apple tech community lately, and speculations that the issue was software-based soon bloomed after Apple attempted to resolve the issues with a driver update. Apple has just released the iMac Software Update 1.2.1 for the Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) on their official website. The patch is specifically for 20-inch and 24-inch iMacs with processor speeds of either 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8 GHz. This 13.3 MB download fixes a few problems on the Tiger OS that popped up when the iMac Software Update 1.2 was released.
