Wacky Stephen Colbert announced yet a new challenge for digital video enthusiasts: integrate Stephen and his lightsaber skills into a digital environment. No relation to Lucasfilm's Star Wars though. Since Colbert issued his green screen challenge, there has been a explosion of videos in different media sharing websites like Youtube.
Here's one of them from brassrocket, an interesting 24-second video of a man with an iPod for a lightsaber. Oh yeah, we dig the cool music background and nice editing of the sequences. |

"Hello, I'm a Mac.""And I'm a PC." Yep! They're back! Apple has put up three new "Get A Mac" ads. Despite much controversy, the ads, from an advertising perspective, are quite effective. They are simple, straight-to-the-point, and have recall. Some would say they're hilarious. These new ads (you can download the previous ones here) still convince users to, well, "get a Mac". And now, the ads are focusing more on the new features of the MacBook and OS X. As the other "Get A Mac" ads go, these three new ones are similar - opening with their customary introductory greetings and talking about their pros and cons. Here are the three new additional commercials.

For those of you who are looking forward to the final release of the Mac OS X Leopard, we have a video right here of Leopard's Spaces feature working hand in hand with Expos?Hope you guys like it.
For the uninitiated, Spaces is a virtual desktop feature developed by Apple to enable users to set up virtual desktops (or "Spaces") suited to the user's particular needs without the need of creating a new account. For example, you can create a Space primarily assigned to office work and then switch to a different one with a focus on web surfing. Up to 16 spaces can be created, and applications can be bound to specific spaces. Expos?meanwhile, allows users to quickly locate an open window, or to hide all windows and show the desktop without the need to click through many windows to find a specific target. Expos?ets users display all open windows as thumbnails, view windows of the current application or hide all windows to quickly locate a file on their desktops. We think these features are both very useful and visually appealing, which is not something that you can say about a lot of things. This vid has only served to make us more excited about seeing Leopard's final release.

The simple interface works great, and according to reviewers gives a great video output perfect for any iPod. The only limitations with this version of the program (v1.0) is that you cannot use this application to convert flv files (what YouTube uses) stored on your local computer, and that it doesn't have a progress meter to tell you how much of the video has been converted. Besides that, this program works really well and hopefully requested features such as a progress meter and local flv file support can be added in a later version. Download: [PodTube v1.0] |

This time, Matthew Kane wakes up strapped into a conveyor belt while he's being Stroggified - a horrific and gruesome procedure where your body is cut and fused with metal, wires, and circuitry. But as the transformation is to become a reality, he gets rescued by fellow Marines and returned to base. You discover that you can manipulate and interface with the Strogg world in ways that no one has ever done. This unexpected advantage will set off Kane's gruelling fight. If you haven't yet tried the game, and the trailer got you interested, just click on this link for Pranav T.'s article to know more about Quake 4. And as for the trailer, just click on the read link below the article. Quake is still selling at the Apple Store for $49.95 and will be at your doorstep in 24 hours. |

Firstly, watch the video below. To me this is one of the most convincing fakes I've seen for a while, and I say that only because it has a video to show it off. Someone wants us to believe that they have ported Mac OSX Leopard to the Video iPod, and not only this, they have also got themselves or made a touch screen for the iPod. There are two main reasons to why I think this is a fake, but the final decision is up to you. Firstly the screen resolution seems way too high for the iPod, and the general appearance just seems like a straight video. Secondly the stylus sync is too un-smooth and mis-timed.
Have a look at the video and let us know what you think... |

Talk about stretching the franchise beyond its limits! The iPod family is such a huge success we heard Apple is stamping everything with an "i" to keep the money rolling in. If you've got money to flush down the toilet, take a seat at Apple's iPotty. We stumbled upon a video that says this "supposed" Apple product holds 10,000 songs and a gallon of water. Hitting the flush bar plays digital music as your "hot stuff" dance round and round till its gone. As 'fun' as this may sound, the iPotty is just a product of Bretizzle's imagination.

Big fans of video conferencing would be really happy with this new development from Skype. The Luxembourg-based company revealed that their next big project would be video support for Skype for Mac, which they said would be available this year.Apparently, the guys over at Skype is putting the wants of the consumers first since they have been heavily bombarded with various posts requesting for video for Skype for Mac. The guys over at Skype also wants to warn their users not to download early development version of Skype for Mac with video that has been present in some sites. They warn you that this version is an internal unstable development version, and thus it is extremely buggy. It could cause so much problems for you such as the destruction of your contacts and other pertinent data - plus, it is completely unsupported, so if you experiences glitches, you're on your own. They also want to spread the word that the said app going around is two months old, and the version that Skype will be officially releasing is miles, miles better and ahead than those circulating now. As for their Skype for Mac with Video, they say that itĀ?s not yet ready for use, but it will be soon. For now, salivate with this actual snapshot of a video call with Skype for Mac. |

I remember a friend telling me, that if she got marooned in an island she'll only want one thing with her - her iPod and its thousand of songs to keep her company until rescue comes. Of course I had to ask the obvious, "What are you going to do when your battery runs out?" And at the point I can tell that she's thinking the worst. Well, now she'll be happy to know that there is another solution. Once your Apple iPod runs out of juice, all you had to do is create a fruit shake as Leiv Parton from Sideshow Media Group shows us in this 3 minute parody for the iPod.
