The iPhone had already been announced and revealed during Steve Jobs' MacWorld keynote. To put it mildly, things have been picking up for Apple since then. But what more of it? ActionCorp has posted an interesting video that compiles four features that we may have missed during that keynote address.

As mentioned in the clip, these aren't anything groundbreaking, but they're still interesting to take note of. The simple fact that Jobs merely mentioned these in passing might pique your interests and make you hopeful that there probably really is something more to this:
  • Calendar application - viewable by year, day, and month + buttons for notes and adding events
  • Google maps - no interface for traffic and directions shown, but there are buttons that could possibly show this
  • Letter scrolling - on top of finger flicking/scrolling, you can also simply click on said letter to jump on
  • Ringtones - default ringtone heard + ringtones sold on iTunes
The video pretty much explains everything and gives sound basis for their speculations and expectations of the final specs for the iPhone. Check out the vid below:

Within a certain world bound by the iPod, the Mac, OS X, the Apple's-got-to-call-it-somethingPhone, Apple TV, and so forth, Steve Jobs sits right on top of the food chain. King of the hill. Visionary ideologue. The only thing missing is a Red Sea to part, it seems. But perhaps another aspect of Jobs' charm isn't just his bold vision for Apple (which has led to at least one outrageous claim, though), but his humanity.

You know, it's got flaws, it screws up every once in a while, and instead of running Bug Month, everyone has a good laugh. It happens to everyone, even to Jobs. Here's a collage of some of his keynote speech bloopers, caught on tape, and edited together in iMovie by --Machintologist--. Yes, it's nothing newsworthy, we know, for those who nitpick. But the true mark of being human, a wise man once said, is his ability to laugh once in a while and not give a whole flying manureload whether it's newsworthy or not. We bet even Steve enjoys a good laugh once in a while.

As much as everyone seems to be raving about the recent unveiling of the iPhone, there will inevitably be haters, analysts, and critics for it (as with every new product released in the market). We've given you a rundown of different analyses about how the iPhone will fare in the mobile market and because we here in QJ believe in democracy, we'll let this guy give his piece on the iPhone's future.

Fellas, meet John Dvorak, a Marketwatch Technology columnist who gives his opinion on the whole iPhone mania on his CNBC stint. He says that the features of the iPhone goes against the trend that the mobile market is currently seeing, which is why he apparently doesn't see what the fuss is all about. Dvorak also said that while some people think that Apple is an all-powerful and successful company (what with the moolah they constantly rake in), he believes that "Apple can do wrong and this is it [iPhone]."

But before the claws come out on Dvorak, let's try to keep in mind that this is just his opinion and that everyone's entitled to one, right? So anyhoo, just check out the vid below and hear for yourself what Dvorak has to say about the iPhone. (Kudos to getamac for posting this!)

We've seen a lot of mods lately, and if we may add, we're seeing a trend here. Remember the one that plays Wii games on a Gameboy Advance? How about the one that makes the console somewhat portable? And now we're about to add another "mod" to our list.

To tell you the truth though, we're not quite sure how you'll take this: We found a video clip of an iPod running with a NES controller. It sounds weird and all but the guy is actually playing a Ninty game on an Apple gadget. We wouldn't be surprise if the next one would include an SNES or a GC controller - heck, even the Wiimote itself.

Well, we'll just have to see in the coming days if something like that will actually happen. For now, just watch the video clip bunnyf00f00 uploaded and tell us what you think.

It's hip, it's cool, it's happening. This is what could best describe the message being sent across by this video presenting the new iPhone from Apple.

This six-minute clip basically walks you through the various features of the much-talked about iPhone, like call-waiting, conference calls, voice messaging, photos, music, videos and more. Yep, Apple sure is bent on living up to the hype that's been stirring up for a while now. And now that it's officially launched, we bet you can't wait to get your hands on one. From the looks of it, it's definitely gonna be worth the cost, add-ons and all.

Thanks to MGSROCKS1 for the tip!

Here's something that could catch the eye of the passing iTunes fan...and probably the videogame vets. We were looking over Youtube when we found an old video dating back to 1992. It was done on a Commodore Amiga, which at the time was a competitor for PC and Apple. This particular video on the left is titled "State of the Art" is by the Spaceballs demo group, and while we thought it looked cool, we got a strange sense of deja vu...

Yeah, we know - it bears a striking resemblance to the theme a lot of the recent iTunes commercials carry. To give you an idea of what we mean, check out the Apple ad on the right for comparison. Kind of interesting how the past comes back to us in other interesting ways....

FF2: Rise of the Silver Surfer

"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" from 20th Century Fox and Marvel Comics is the sequel to the 2005 movie Fantastic Four. The actors reprise their roles and new faces will grace the series. Silver Surfer and Nova debuts in this movie.

In the trailer, we see an uber cool aerial chase between the Human Torch and the Silver Surfer. Since we still need to do some waiting to do for the actual movie (US release is June 15), you can watch the trailer at the link below. The trailer is available for download for the PSP, iPod Video, and Zune, among other portable video players.

The Silver Surfer is an intergalactic herald for Galactus, a powerful being who devours worlds. He arrives on Earth and does so in the worst of times - during Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Sue Storm's (Invisible Woman) wedding. That's the least of their problems as their arch nemesis Dr. Doom returns to do what normal villains do: get revenge and laugh maniacally.

Let's see... What has the Wiimote been able to control so far? Remote-controlled cars, guitars, Sony's PlayStation 3, EverQuest II, and some other items. Yep, that's a lot of stuff.

Now, how about the king of MMOs?

Someone's decided to make a tutorial video for using your Wiimote to play World of Warcraft. As you can probably see from his interface, he's using DarwiinRemote to get the job done, so you'll have to remember to get that too. It isn't perfect though, as the there isn't a function for the right mouse button just yet, but this is a great first step.

In any case, what are we waiting for? If you have a Wii, an account for WoW, a Mac OS, and a few minutes to spare, you might as well learn how to do this little trick, right? All that's left is to figure out how to get my character to dance on-screen, and I'll be the hottest Night Elf dancing queen this side of Ironforge. Sweet!

WiiSaber from isnoopWiiSaber is a clever little Cocoa application for the Mac from isnoop. Earlier, isnoop had made an application called the MacSaber, and what it did was used the Mac's "sudden motion sensor" - every time the Mac was moved, it would make Jedi lightsaber noises and keyboard backlight effects (vigorous movement resulted in Jedi lightsaber clashing and striking noises).

The WiiSaber application lets you use your Wii remote to make lightsaber noises.

So go, lock yourself in your room and start swinging your Wiimote around.

This is WiiSaber v1.0 Beta 1. isnoop says, "I plan on adding more features including more visual response and multi-controller capabilities soon, so check back again later." We can't wait. Meanwhile, we're entertaining ourselves by making deep breathing noises and pretending to use Force lightning on each other.

And here's the YouTube vid uploaded by thescott18. He mentions the force feedback (the vibration or "rumble" feature - he's not talking about feedback from the Force).

You can't blame Kevin Rose for speculating like mad about the iPhone, like he did in his latest Diggnation podcast with Alex Albrecht (we'd blame what he's drinking). What makes his speculations interesting - besides that it's in YouTube-uploaded format, courtesy of momo411176 - is that this is the same guy whom MacWorld says accurately called the news from the MacWorld last January, as well as the iPod Nano. And that he claims he's got "inside information" to boot.

So, to all the bookies out there: what are the odds that his speculations today are what come out for the next MacWorld this coming January?

As the video goes on, you may just hit some familiar stories like touch-sensitivity or OS X pop up. You may also expect the Muscle-Bound Henchmen of Jobs to pop up and cut the podcast feed... among other unmentionables - we kid. Anyway, one month away from MacWorld, we'll soon find out if Kevin Rose calls it right again for the iPhone. Or Apple Phone. Or whatever Cupertino pans to call it - but we're betting iPhone. Those guys must have patented the "i-" by now...
