Screenshot of biteSMS iPhone homebrew application - Image 1If your local SMS rates are getting you bummed out, you might want to try a cheaper homebrew alternative. Developer BigBoss earlier announced that the latest build of biteSMS has officially gone live.

Version 1.50 of the homebrew SMS client application now features support for the iPhone OS 2.0. The program will still sport most of the functions found in previous releases before its firmware 2.0 conversion.

Here's a short list of the older functions that are currently being worked on:
  • The Ā?Default AppĀ? functionality is not yet implemented (itĀ?s being coded as we speak)
  • Adding a contact from the address book does not slide away the keyboard (it should, itĀ?s a bug and is being fixed)
Any credits you have stored before the 2.0 move will still be there, so you don't have to worry about losing any previously purchased SMS credits for biteSMS. You can find the latest version of the app on Cydia, through the BigBoss repository site found there.
