Following in the footsteps of Football Manager 2008, Sports Interactive has revealed the next installment to be released for the PSP, PC, and Mac OS X platforms. The iphone-dev team has released updates for the PwnageTool and QuickPwn Release Candidate. These are minor updates to squash some incompatibility errors that have been reported from their previous versions.

We've had a couple rumors dropping in for the past couple of months about upcoming plans for Apple's future line of hardware and software products. Recent rumors suggest that all these changes are growing imminent: the next-gen iPod Nano and iPod Touch, the latest iTunes update, and Mac OS X 10.5.6 introducing Blu-ray might be just around the corner!

Apparently, iPhone 3Gs grow on trees. If current whispers about Apple's future plans hold out, we just might be getting a deluge of iPhone 3G units in the market. Now I've heard of Metal Gear Solid 4 shipping in numbers of 3 million copies worldwide. But this... 45 million iPhones?! Whoa.

Get equal parts of Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and a generous dose of '50s sci-fi movies, and you get the makings of Astro Ranch. Primarily marketed for the iPhone, the game is also set to come out on the DS and N-Gage platforms. Screens and more details in the full article.

QuickJump QuickPeek finally gets a make-over! After a full year of weekly updates, we're now turning over a new leaf and allowing this QJ.NET mainstay to branch out by introducing the Weekend Warriors. Sorry, the Weekend Whattssitts? Hmm, just think of it as the Planeteers summoning Captain Planet. ...Or something - some other equally bad analogy like that at least. Ha! Nonetheless, it's going to be quite interesting from here on out. Here's to yet another year of some crazy weekly updates! And with that, we open the floor for the Weekend Warriors!

The MacWorld Expo 2008 got us - and maybe most everyone else - into an Apple groove. The Manila envelope-sized MacBook Air sure made our trusty PowerBook feel a bit envious and unloved (yes, our gadgets here in the QJ.NET blogging labs have feelings too), so we decided to revisit a couple of our other gadgets. Not least of all is the Headplay, of course. Hitting two birds with one stone, we weren't just able to dish out a review of the head-mounted display, but we also managed to squeeze out some time to catch some movies too! This year, we've seen a lot of crazy things. But what's been popular though (Vanessa Ann Hudgens photos aside)? Yahoo! can probably answer that with their annual "Top Trends in Search" list for 2007.

While there are a lot of keywords being searched this year, what concerns us is the list of top 10 searches in technology. Who're the movers and shakers? You can probably guess already, but read more to see the full list!

The first release of iJailbreak for the iPod Touch is here. For those who are new with the "jailbreaking" scene, it was first started by Niacin, Dre, Martyn, NerveGas, and the rest of their team. They had created a preliminary jailbreak for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The release today is of iJailbreak v0.2.1 - a jailbreaking application built on the preliminary hack from last week.

iJailbreak is a program that you run on your Mac OS X Tiger - yeah, as for now, the Power PC users would have to sit and wait a bit -  so that you can basically "free up" you iPod Touch to allow third party applications. What's interesting here is that it was coded by AriX, a 13 year old!

You can download the app below and install it on your Mac. Just be careful with working on this as there have already been reports of freeze ups. If anything happens, you can still always restore your iPod back to factory default settings using iTunes.
