A press announcement heralded by legal firm Kabateck Brown Kellner, LLP claimed that Apple deceived customers when they released the newer 20-inch version of the iMac line. According to the plaintiffs, the company advertised that the 20-inch LCD monitors in the recent iMac all-in-one desktops display "millions of colors at all resolutions," but in fact, only the 24-inch versions and the older 20-inch releases lived up to that claim. The new 20-inchers only displayed 262,144 colors at supported resolutions instead. That's a whopping 98% less of of the 16 million colors supposedly not displayed, and the firm says that other absent colors are "simulated" in order to compensate. Unfortunately, the 24-inch and previous 20-inch models support full 16 million colors and have much better image quality than the new units in question. The firm also adds that the 20-inch TN screens have a narrower viewing angle and are "more susceptible to washout" while operating. The iMac line wasn't without its own share of hardware faults. But it seems that this latest find has become the pinnacle of many customers' frustrations that finally led to a legal dispute. Even some avid followers of Apple seemed to agree that the company should have seen a class action suit coming. "Apple is squeezing more profits for itself by using cheap screens and its customers are unwittingly paying the price," Kabateck said. The legal firm that won more than US$ 750 million from Google, Eli Lilly, Farmer's Insurance, and other major corporations are going to see that Apple pays for its deception. More updates as we get them. |

» I'm sure I'll get neg'd for this but..
Apple thinks it can get away with this and you know what?, For the vast majority of Mac users they can.
What I'm trying to say here is RESEARCH your products, Don't just see the new pretties with an apple sticker on it and spew your money at them.
Blind faith in a company is foolish.
