One of the biggest names people have to be thankful for in the Apple homebrew scene would have to be Zibri. This homebrew developer was the talent behind the ZiPhone unlocker for Apple's popular mobile phone.

In an interview with iPhone World, he talks about the development of his ZiPhone jailbreak application as well as his opinions on the homebrew scene in general.

Zibri explained that he wanted to keep things simple and original upon the development of the jailbreaking software. It employs a user-friendly interface as well as the original 3.9 bootloader. Future updates to ZiPhone will also continue to remain simple, with updates required only for the main files included in the app.

Perhaps the biggest advantage ZiPhone has over similar applications was the fact that it can add the user's favorite apps or mods directly to his or her iPhone. With the DMCA law protecting the software, he was also rather confident about ZiPhone not being tied up with any legal restraints from Apple.

He was rather laid back with the idea of the new SDK released by the said company. Zibri believed people would still prefer becoming to be independent developers rather than being tied to Apple.

Finally, Zibri explained his own personal wish list with what he wanted for the iPhone - hardware and software-wise. He mentioned that while he was more or less satisfied with the way it's designed so far, he would prefer "more open software" support for the platform as well as 3G on it someday.
