Built for Apple Software 1.1.3, Xlaunch version 0.31 is a bit different from its previous versions: the latest now comes with operational support on the Apple iPod Touch, while still being functional for the Apple iPhone. In addition to the interface and application icon tweaks it came with from the start, Apple homebrew developer Erica Sadun (of TUAW fame) also added a few more aesthetic changes and features, including display of Webclips and application icons.

In fact, she believes that Xlaunch v0.31 may have eliminated the need for AppFlow - a Cover Flow interface tweak application for the iPhone - altogether. And that's obviously due to the fact that Xlaunch version 0.31 has AppFlow integrated into it. The homebrew application also includes a few tricks up its sleeve - the most prominent of which would be noticed once you tilt your Apple portable on its side.

Now we're expecting a lot more updates to roll in for Xlaunch version 0.31, as new requests are streaming in from Xlaunch users worldwide. But if you're a first time user, then you might be wondering how to make this work.

Download the archive, and extract to your desktop. Use any file transfer program for Apple portables - sftp and afp are good examples - to move the entire folder to your handheld. Assign executable permissions to Xlaunch.app by entering this on console while inside the xlaunch app folder: "chmod +x xlaunch.app" or "chmod 755 xlaunch.app".
