Here's an update iPhone fans might really enjoy. ZodTTD has posted a new video on his website, showcasing a controller mod he's set up. The funny thing about it is that it's an SNES gamepad adapter modded so that it'll play nice on the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Specifically, an SNES gamepad used to control snes4iphone.

ZodTTD notes that it's essentially a work-in-progress, as it's meant to help him work out the development library for the upcoming iControlPad. The video below won't actually show ZodTTD playing any games, but it does show off button presses registering on the iPod Tocuh,

If you're interested in trying this out with your own controller, you might be displeased to know that you probably won't be able to do so. As noted in the comments of his post,

This SNES controller is just a prototype used for developing/testing software earlier on. This sort of model probably wont ever be able to go mass production.

It's not really your normal SNES controller, as some of the guts of it have been replaced with its own microcontroller, and I modded the snes4iphone software to read and write to the gamepad.

Still, it's a great mod, and if it helps usher in some new homebrew, then we're certainly pleased with the result. Enjoy the vid!
