iPod amnesty bin - Image 1

Sometimes messages need to be sent to the other camp to trigger some kind of response or to psyche out the opposition. Microsoft's Zune people earlier released an image of their "iPod Amnesty Bin" and had it find its way to Flickr. The weird picture drew bemused reactions from readers there.

Message sent, though no body's quite sure if it means anything at all. The only thing we all can be sure of is that the boys in green probably spent a bundle on those iPods. Either that or they already own iPods and placed them in the bin as props or something.

We're really not sure what to make of all this, especially the "bite me" message. It's just plain weird when you consider that professionals are behind this. Help us figure out the mysteries by posting your comments.

» MicroSUX truely rotten to the CORE

Micro$ux has outdone themselves again with garbage. I guess those who buy the MS Zune are idiots, and this just proves it if they actually threw their iPods away (probably props by MicroSUX!).

 » WoW!

iPods are stupid. Zunes are stupid.

Who cares about playing stupid music on the go. I likey my psp.

Anyhow dont see any ipod videos in there or nanos, just like 3 craptastic white ghetto azz crappods.

 » audio players arent stupid.

psp is an extremely ineffective audio player. i can not be satisfied with only an hour of music. even owning a 4gig memorstick for my psp i cant afford to use more space for music. my ipod has all my music collection stored in one tiny convenient product(80gig).

and by no means is my white ghetto azz ipod crappy. its a custom painted job by colorware PC and it looks amazing.

i was really hoping zune would do something cool. microsoft really really failed. speaking of sucking software how is that sonicstage for your psp? does it suck like i think it does?

 » audioeyez???

the PSP has more than one hour battery life for music. The shortest amount of life a PSP has is with a movie, which lasts about 2 hours or so and then it dies! I would say that for music it is the longest amount of time! So get your facts straitened out!

As for the music storage, there is 8Gig card out right now, and they probably will release a 16GB one out soon!

As for the Bin, I doubt it means anything just MS way of fighting back on Apple, since Apple is pretty vicious with those ads of theirs!

 » Yeah, too bad...

16 gigs huh? Good luck. Oh yeah, and if they do, get ready to drop $399 + you fool. PSP blows. Sorry.

 » wow microsoft

dude... im not talking about the battery use. the batteries maintain a DECENT use. and by DECENT i mean sucky... but consider all the psx games i have on my 4gig...and emulators and avc movie and pictures ....and with everything else i end up with one hour of MUSIC! im sorry...but my ipod supplies me with 15.5 days of music! i have alot of music. and i plan adding more. i like to have it ALL accessible cause i DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT carry CDS in my car. they get stolen, scratched, and i dont need that if it plays directly into my car.

psp cant handle ***** for music. AND SONIC STAGE STILL SUCKS.

and their system to buy copyright protected music sucks. they dont even carry HALF the obscure music i listen to. neither does itunes but at least they have heard of who im bumping to.

i remember dropping 199 for my 4 gig and last i heard its dropped to 80 bucks. maybe it was a rumor but it doesnt surprise me. eff that.

 » Uhh

I have a PSP 3:40 OE-A Firmware and an iPod Video 30 gig. Both kicked ass. You're all nut jobs.

Re: audio eyez (Unregistered) - 2007-06-08
 » mmmno.

if you read with a bit more comprehension...you would have seen i have a psp also. its not that i dont like psp. i am just fully aware that it is an effective audio player.

im mainly commenting on what bean eater had to say. "Who cares about playing stupid music on the go. I likey my psp"

thats just narrowminded.

he completely ignores the fact that cd players never sat in the same place as gameboys.

it just sucks when i see a person doesnt appreciate music.
