I see you...not!While we like the influx of interesting third-party gadgets that follows every new console launch, there are times that we have to sit back, take a deep breath, and go, "You gotta be kidding."

For those wondering what's caught our fancy, we're talking about 22Moo's Ultra-Light i-Vision video eye-wear, which is apparently compatible for the Xbox 360, Wii, iPod Video and Zune. And for those wondering what exactly this long-named device is, it's basically a pair of monitors attached to an eyeglass frame - the whole thing resembles something between a VR helmet, Nintendo's Virtua Boy, and La Forge's visors. Could this be a spin-off of another helmed horror?

The set comes in three different version:
  • i-Vision 230 - 35-inch display, 320 x 240 resolution, 72g, $250 USD.
  • i-Vision 922 - 48-inch display, 640 x 480 resolution, 84g, $350 USD.
  • Argo+PC VGA video glasses - compatible with a PC, Mac, PDA, and any device which carries AV or VGA output.
Yeah, we know - we just realized that the cheapest set is gonna hack off as much money as a Wii bundle, which brings us to our next thought: the fact this doohickey works with a Wii. We've already seen the broken TVs, shattered windows, and sudden killings that have been following the Wiimote's strap...now we're blindfolding them?

Hmm, we're thinking there are two ways to make the gadget work: Either master your force abilities while blinded as Luke did in Episode 4, or just get ocular implants - worked for La Forge.

 » Because its pointless

PSP has already a screen, you can attach your PSP to your forehead and it would be the same.

PSP apply directly to the forehead,
PSP apply directly to the forehead,
PSP apply directly to the forehead,
apply directly to the forehead, apply directly to the forehead

You really don't have an actual VGA based output on the psp, however, through the use of that psp screen to psp that has it does, so technically we already have it , but the third party hardware , the weight of the psp after the addition of the screen mirror, and actually having to go through the process just to get this work is too much work in itself, unless somebody manages to do that beside the cost.

So you can use it to emulate the virtual boy that sucked a$$,you can look even more stupid,it will changethe way people have accidents with their wii's and tv.

When people is going to give up on Home VR,it sucks. Its going to take a while until someone makes one that doesnt sucks a$$.

» Can you review it QJ?

I was wondering if you guys at QJ might want to review the product for us (just like you did with the gaming chair), and tell us if its buying it.

   Re: WC - 2006-12-19
 » Yes

Not that I think QJ will be unbiased in their review, but I'd like to see SOME reviews before buying something like this. I can definitely see some use for it.

My boss suggested watching a movie on your iPod on a plane-flight. Having your own 48" screen in-flight would be pretty sweet.

You know... it actually might help the flying wiimote situation... no tv, no breakie, no :(. unless of course... you actually are stupid enough to somehow throw the wiimote and whack your face >_>;...

.... im sure its happened before

i guess you could still technically break other things... humm... you could play in a bathroom or something :D

 » This is not VR...

Just small monitors positioned in a way that they seem ALOT larger then they are, and fully encompass your vision...

Myself, I am definately stocked about these, as long as the quality of the picture is good....I really want to test them out.

This definately is the begining os some type of VR. They could easly adapt a set specifically for Wii, so that it knows if you are looking up/down or left/right, then use the nunchuka for movement and the remote to aim around....not bad if you ask me, although it'd be better on 360 if it could go there....

About time, and they will only get better....cool shiz...

 » TOTALLY FALSE

This device couldn't possibly work with the
Wii, even if it exists. How would the freakin' pointer function work? There's no way. Just think about it.

 » Wii

The wii uses a sensor bar, not the TV...So you would just have to Setup the Sensor bar at TV Height, and try to keep pointed at it...

Olympus eyetrek 6 or 7 years ago - they're not bad for watching movies but when you play games you suddenly realise how much you move your head while playing, it takes a bit of getting used to when the image is fixed in the centre of your field of view.

» what's does the difference in pixels mean???

the "230" version has 320x240 image size while the "922" version has 640x480. does this mean the image the eye sees is much larger or are the pixels smaller?? if the pixels are smaller the image will be sharper but will be about the same size as the image with larger pixels. I tried glasses with the 320x240 image size and it was excellent BUT the size of the image could have been larger for my taste. I prefer to sit closer to the screen in a theater. so does the "922" bring you closer to the image, but still in focus, or does it keep the image about the same size but make the dots smaller and therefore the image sharper?? anyone have an idea??
