Such is the weight of the iPhone's success in the US, that UK mobile phone service provider 02 believes the innovative handset will enjoy the same brand of success in European shores. 02 is the largest mobile operator in the UK, and is the exclusive mobile network licensed to provide Apple's iPhone to its subscribers.

Confident in the success of Apple Cupertino's best-selling device, 02 already ordered "hundreds of thousands" of iPhone units, to be sold through 02's retail and online stores, some of which are owned by Carphone Warehouse. 02 also believes that it will sell over 200,000 iPhones in the first two months. However, analysts say that the 200,000 count is too conservative, predicting about 350,000 to 400,000 units to be sold within the two-month period.
