"Hello, I'm a Mac.""And I'm a PC." Yep! They're back! Apple has put up three new "Get A Mac" ads. Despite much controversy, the ads, from an advertising perspective, are quite effective. They are simple, straight-to-the-point, and have recall. Some would say they're hilarious. These new ads (you can download the previous ones here) still convince users to, well, "get a Mac". And now, the ads are focusing more on the new features of the MacBook and OS X. As the other "Get A Mac" ads go, these three new ones are similar - opening with their customary introductory greetings and talking about their pros and cons. Here are the three new additional commercials.

» Uhhh Yeah...
These commercials would be much more effective if they weren't complete bull**t.
Half the time they exaggerate, the other half they just flat out lie.
Don't get me wrong, Macs are amazing business and graphic design systems, but let's get real, the average home user or family would have no use for a Macintosh. If paying way too much for a plastic computer that looks like it came from the lamp section of IKEA is 'hip', then more power to these terrible and misleading ads...

My thoughts exactly, the average home user wants something thats easy to use, the mac's are really nice though and the GUI is a lot nicer than xp but I still prefer my PC.

Macs ARE easier to use, and in most cases, they are even cheaper than their nearest PC competitor, completely blowing both of your arguments out of the way.

How are the ads bullsh*t? Give us an example please, I'd love to hear it. "The average home user or family" would have complete use for a Mac. Mac's do anything a PC can do except Macs do it right. They're superior in every way to Windows and any PC manufacturer.

First of all there is millions upon millions of programs out there. So the mac can run 10,000 word processors instead of 100,000 big woop, there's still PLENTY of selection. Should you REALLY want to, there's alot of options to allow a Mac to run Windows programs like CodeWeaver's CrossOver, Parallels, BootCamp ect. so there goes your BS arguement. The operating systems is worlds ahead of Winblows in every aspect and the hardware is superior AND cheaper in some cases than a comperable PC. Its obvious who the real ignorant retard is.

A Mac CAN be a PC but the only thing keeping it from it is not running Windows but OS X instead. If you were to install Winblows, itd'd be just as infected and crappy as any other PC. A select few know that the OS is the only divider but most of the public to which these ads are aimed, see Macs and PCs as apples and oranges (no pun intended).

» Im sorry gentlemen
But a PC is a personal Computer, Macs are personal computers as well, it doesnt matter on the operating system if it is a personal computer or not.
BTW: I work at my school as a tech. assistant, and I always have to work on the MAC side of the school because they keep crashing. The new dells that we got only have a memory refrence error when people try to hack into them. *shrug* The only reason the Mac's are crashing is it seems like they are lesser compadiable with the server's 4 T1 lines, and the server automaticly resets some of the options in the Mac and renders it useless untill i come and fix it.
Or unless its part of the "Specially needy" class, I have to replace the hardware that they fried in the Mac while the Windows Based computers actually still stood and they only have ones that run under Windows 98 and Windows 2000. So this bewilders me. I like PC because of all of its functions and what you can do with it, when im working with a Mac, I cant find a single piece of useful software on the internet to get going on what i wanted to do. I dont use my "PC" or any mac for Video Production or Animation (Matter of Fact our school uses 3DMAX on the new dells)
The dells costs for our school: $210 each.
the macs that had been bought for the school costed around $340-$450. So whos fooling who?
