As classic space shooter titles go, nothing gets gamers more nostalgic than a good round of Asteroids. Homebrew developer Vball recently recreated the old school shooter on Apple's iPhone and iPod touch, giving it a unique touchscreen twist.

Entitled "SdlRoids", the game emulates all the classic features of the original title from which it was based on - from pixelated space rocks to the "pew pew" sounds of old. For those of you wondering, SdlRoids takes its name from the SDL library that it was developed on.

The screenshot above shows the game's different controls based on its relative position on the touchscreen. You can download SdlRoids by searching for it on the ZodTTD.com repository (available through Community Sources).
