Diagrams filed with a patent by Apple surfaced this week showing something eerily similar to the rumors out there regarding a touch-sensitive iPod screen that displays a wheel when touched. Rumors about a new version of the Apple iPod that could be manipulated by touch and feature a larger screen seem to complement the new diagrams very well.

According to the patent:

The invention pertains to gestures and methods of implementing gestures with touch sensitive devices. Examples of touch sensitive devices include touch screens and touch pads. The invention also pertains to user interfaces and methods of implementing user interfaces with displays.

Come on, Steve Jobs, bring this thing out already. Well, there go all my iPod purchases until at least April 1, the anniversary of the Apple company, a date many believe will usher in the new iPod as well.

I dont know if I would want one. The screen would be dirty and scratched so badly.

is it me, or does thing not even resemble an ipod??? it looks more like an innovation for an imac or some apple tablet pc thing, not an ipod, sorry, jobs isn't going to piss off consumers anymore than they've already gotten w/ ppl buying these things like crazy, and suing for the scratches on the nano and stuff like that, he ain't coming out w/ something that could cause an even larger negative uproar, it's not even practical, scratch, scratch scratch!!
