Apple MacBook Air Trackpad - Image 1It has been revealed that the next batch of MacBook Pros, namely the 15- and 17-inch models, will be shipping with a multi-touch trackpad.

For those unfamiliar with multi-touch trackpads, it's essentially the gesture-based input found in both the iPhone and iPod adopted for use with the trackpads.

This feature allows users to pinch, swipe, rotate to zoom in on text, advance through a photo album, or adjust an image all with a couple of swipes on the pad. Incidentally, it is also one of the more awesome features of the recently introduced MacBook Air.

The integration of this new technology in the new MacBooks Pros is a pretty good move by Apple. After all, who wouldn't want to have added control over their systems without having to resort to using a mouse? It might not be long before we see all of the notebooks from the company sporting a multi-touch trackpad.

» The solution is something called a mouse?

How about a mouse that actually works? Each time I use a MacBook I always get finger cramps from using the itty-bitty trackpad. But still better than using that silly white mouse. It looks great, but not very reliable and goes insane each time you accidentally squeeze it too hard.
