iPhone - Image 1

Heads up, iPhone owners: new version of the Apple iPhone Software Development Kit and firmware are now available for download via the iPhone Dev Center website.

So if you've an account, and you're interested in making some pretty nifty apps for the next-gen gadget of communication, you might as well go ahead and get this, as no doubt it'll come with a lot of features and enhancements to make your developing hijinks a lot more smoother.

Unfortunately, we're not too sure just what's changed, or the enhancements themselves, as the changelog is pretty much only accessible if you have an account yourself. However, the download itself - the fifth beta release since the March unleashing of the SDK itself - is only over 1 GB in size, so you'll know right away what's changed.

And besides, this is Apple we're talking about. When have they ever let developers down?

If anything, this release is a bit unexpected, since there's just under a week left until the end of the Apple Design Awards submission period. What about the developers who sent their entries early, then? Here's hoping it doesn't mess up the proceedings

Updates as we get them, so stay tuned right here. In the meantime, you can download the SDK itself by following the via link below.
