Good things are finally coming their way towards Apple iGadget fans: Steve Jobs already announced the newfangled wonderful things in Apple's media event, and what a bunch of wonderful gadgetry they are!
After giving themselves a pat on the back on iTune's success (600 million copies of iTunes distributed, 95 million TV shows sold, 32% digital-only music releases), Jobs started announcing the newest additions to the Apple family, beginning with the little things, such as the addition of a red-colored shuffle among other new colors. It will have the same specs such as 1GB memory and will be on sale for US$ 79, and will be available shortly. Next up is the new iPod Nano. It turns out that the rumors of a smaller, stockier Nano is true: it's the very same cuter iPod Nano whose pictures were circulating the net a few days ago. It has a 2-inch screen, the same QVGA resolution as the existing Nanos, enhanced user interface (with the same cover flow browsing as iPhone!), and 3 new games. The new iPod Nano's battery life is more than alright: it can play for 24 hours only with audio, and 5 full hours of video playback. There are two storage flavors available: 4GB and 8GB. The 4GB flavor will be priced at US$ 149, while the 8GB will have a tag price of only US$ 199. Even more good news? These cool new babies have already been shipped and will be in stores starting this weekend. There's yet another revision of the iPod, and it looks like a lovechild of the Nano and the classic iPod. Introducing...the iPod Classic. It looks like the original iPod (though not as big), only in metallic finishes and has the same colored screen as the Nanos. The iPod Classic will have a whopping 80GB storage, with a battery life of 30 hours of audio, and 6 hours of video. The iPod Classic 80GB also has a thicker sibling, the iPod Classic 160GB. Surprisingly, even the battery life has increased: 40 hours of audio and 7 hours of video. The price? iPod Classic 80GB will fetch a good US$ 250, while the 160GB unit will be priced at US$ 350. Looks like the iPod line up is looking better and better this holiday season, but that's not the end of it. introducing every iPod user's dream device: the iPod Touch. Bearing the same size as the iPhone, with a screensize of 3.5 inch, iPod Touch is still thinner compared to Apple's first phone at 8mm. It will also feature the same UI that made the iPhone extremely popular. The user interface really does look like an iPhone's, and also has the same Cover Flow browsing feature. How about internet connectivity? Jobs quickly pointed at a small Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g antenna built into the back of the device. Internet connectivity? Check. Browsing Safari works just the same as iPhones, using the Safari browser. The iPod Touch battery life clocks in at a sweet 22 hours audio, and 5 hours video playback. How about the price? The 8GB flavor will be worth US$ 299, while 16GB will be priced at US$ 399. A bit pricey, that. Want to get your hands on that baby? It will be available in just a few weeks, so better make plans to camp out your nearest Apple Store. Along with the advent of the new iPod Touch, Jobs has announced about Apple's partnership with Starbucks. The partnership is apparent in the Starbucks icon that appears in the iPod Touch's Wi-Fi music store whenever it comes within range of a Starbucks outlet. This pretty much lets anyone access the Music Store free of charge while in Starbucks. Whew! That's really a lot of news. But wait, there's more (sorry, but I had to just blurt out that one): the 8GB iPhone is now selling for only $US 399 instead of US$ 599. Now THAT's a great reward for holding out from buying the iPhone immediately. Yes, there's just so many updates regarding Apple's new devices. And this really is the end of this article, but you will get more updates as they come so stay tuned! |

"a wifi store where u can purchase songs without the computer"
so you bought a router with a wifi antenna or a wireless access port? too bad you need a computer to set them up in many cases
oh hey, let's say you're at a wifi hotspot like McDonald's or Starbucks, sure, transmit unencrypted information like your password through the air for anybody to snoop
fine, you're at your own home wifi network, why not just hook up your ipod to your computer anyway?
only 16Gigabytes and no bluetooth for my wireless headphones? tsk tsk

well.. then u want a internet service built in and bluetooth in the ipod.. hmm... isn't like the iphone?..
anyway about the wifi store... maybe u don't want to turn on the computer just to buy a fricking song.. or u are one kind of guy that never turn off the computer? there are many ways to go somewhere with wifi beside a hot spot... friend's house... a party.. your work... and thats my examples... and for the 16gb... I'm a kind of guy that get tired of the songs.. so I'm always deleting the old ones besides the clasics ones... anyway the ipod will not be very common OS for hackers just now...
