We just love them witty Mac Ads, don't you? Well we've got three more of them today, and this one only ups the ante on Apple's attacks against the Windows - particularly Windows Vista - albeit in a wholesome way, still.
The first ad is entitled "Party is Over" and it's got the PC guy complaining about the arrival of the Vista. Supposedly, the launch of Vista is one to celebrate about, but with all the accompanying hassle of having to upgrade and change peripherals and whatnots, it just becomes too tedious to enjoy at the end of the day. Then we have the "Genius" ad, where they added in the Genius character. She basically personifies the Mac Genius housed in every Apple store that will tell you everything you need to know and more. The last one, "Choose A Vista", has got to be my favorite among this bunch. PC introduces his 'spin-the-wheel' game for the Vista, since there's six versions of the OS. So, in order for him to choose which upgrade he'll be choosing, he puts it on the fate of the wheel. Anyhow, why don't you go check out the videos for yourself? That way, you'll better understand why the Mac Ads are such a hit. Maybe you'll be convinced to get yourself a Mac, too. |

these adverts are for people who follow fads.
i can do everything a mac can do and more on my pc.
these adverts remind me of a smug art student telling me why macs are so good. but they cant so they tell me things that are bad about pc's instead.
well oh well im sure its alot worse on a mac, i dont see windows slagging macs off all the time.

» These ads are rediculous
makes me want to puke. For people so up-tight that they actually think a perty puter is going to make them trendy.

The last sentence in this post by Mabie A. turned my stomach.
Why push these divisive advertisements on your readers? I feel like I do when I see the anti-abortion protesters with their desparate photos of multilated fetuses.

If you want to comment on Mac and Apple you are
1 just not informed enough
2 stupid as hell
3 a windows developer
If you are none of those then why the hell do you post such things?
i mean, Mac is good, and can do everything you can do on PC but really faster. I've owned a PC for 7 years, since last year i stepped over to Macintosh and bought myself a MacBook.. Ok i can't play all those games i can in Windows. But to play games just buy yourself a console!
Anyway Prey works... and so do many other good games like call of duty 2.
And btw, those adds just tell you the truth.

Haha yeah, Vista does suck. And MS have virtually no customer support. Good points.
XP still beats Mac OS though. That video neglected to mention that iTunes is the worst media player software in the world. Also the genius can't be that smart seeing as how she forgot to mention Macs can only play a handful of games. Mac is good for Word processing and video editing, but if Apple want to expand their user base to the milions of people who play games, they better get some DirectX support!
Also, paying extra money for your notebook just because it has the "trendy" Mac logo on it is lame.
But then again, having to choose between 5 versions of the same operating system is also lame, especially when they could have put them all together instead of trying to rip everyone off. Even then we'd have to wait another year and a half for a decent service patch.

Industry standard software like Final Cut, Pro Tools and Logic run like ass on PC, and most modern games come in Mac format. You just have to go to the apple store to buy them. For regular yuppies I would agree, that Macs can be a fad, albeit a much more reliable, virus and spyware free, stable fad. However, for us industry types (professional musicians, film editors, producers etc.) using a Mac is the only legitimate option. You can't run 5 simultaneous live audio feeds into a pc in Pro Tools or Logic without your system locking up no matter how many cores and cpu's you add. I can, however on even my tiny 12" powerbook G4.

crappy software is crappy
every studio does not use said tools, in fact, you've probably never even heard of programs like:
Combustion, Cleaner FX, etc.
3dsmax - no Mac support there
Maya - no 64bit support there (have fun substituting particles for real objects there)
go back to making your youtube videos and leave professional video editing to that, the professionals

» There both good
Ok I have a mac and a pc and i like them both, but they both have there faults Pcs for a start always are riden with virus and spyware i constantly am buying new software to tackle it but it always comes back a few months later, my mac on the other hand with its basic secruity system has never had a problem. But then again not as gd games on mac as a pc, but then again i'm not really into computer games there a bit geeky and a waste of time (no offense), but then again macs are so much more enjoyable i enjoy it without games and it never slows down unlike my £1,500 PC does with multi tasking.
So there you have it a mac if you want to have fun, multi task and dont want to play games or a PC for games

get an apple computer and use mac os for everything except games, then boot into windows and play games (and also use apps that mac doesn't have)
best of both worlds

» Don't be a douche, Apple.
Why is apple so unable to sell their products without being complete douches to Windows and its users? Apple is now only defining itself by making exadgerated claims against Microsoft to make Macs look good. It's also terrible that this site would post propaganda like this to force its opinion onto its viewers.

» This is why I hate apple
I despise when companies make their entire business model out of bashing someone else. Plus, Apple's claims in these ads tend to be 100% farm-grade BULL*****. Apple wants you to get caught up in Vista not being the most popular OS in history so that you'll forget that Windows XP is by far the most used operating system right now.
Ever wonder why Microsoft never retaliates to these ads? They don't have to! At the very least, 80% of personal computers active right now run some form of Windows. Also, every Apple user who uses Boot Camp is also buying Windows. As such, many Mac users are also Windows users, thus Microsoft is getting just as much money out of them as they would if the person bought a PC. So even thousands of people suddenly started using Macs, enough of them would also buy Windows that Microsoft would STILL be more successful!

» Why argue...
It's funny how many people are arguing over which is better here. If you don't like Macs, buy a PC. If you don't like PC's, buy a Mac. Wow. That was hard, wasn't it?
And on a side note, don't argue unless you have the knowledge required to do so. PowerPC Macs had very few games, sure. That is a fact. Modern Macs, however, can play any game via bootcamp. Just boot into Windows. 'Tis easy.
About professional users: Most prefer Macs. Macs have been 64 bit since Tiger came out, so 64 bit professional apps work on them. Shake and Final Cut Studio (yes, both Apple products I know) are industry standard applications for editing and compositing. Lightwave and Maya both run on Macs. 3DS max is mainly used in the gaming business, not film. Game producers often use PC's, but some studios do use macs. So there you have it.
Please, stop saying "HAHAHA, Macs can't game!! OH!!! PWNAGE!!PC WINS!!!!!!" because modern Intel Macs can game when you use bootcamp (granted, it is better just to build a gaming PC if you are a gamer, but that doesn't mean you can't play games on a Mac).
I hope this makes things more clear for everyone.

Call me crazy, I don't want to buy an Apple and then use an emulator to play/use anything interesting.
Secondly, "All you have to do is go to the apple store". Uh, no. Ever heard of Target, Walmart, Bestbuy, CircuitCity, Hell, our United super markets sell PC games. So, no, I'd rather not be limited to a single store where they have a monopoly on pricing.

» not an emulator
Bootcamp is not an emulator, though that seems to be a common misconception. All intel Mac are x86 based, not powerPC based, and therefore can run windows natively. Bootcamp simply makes it easy to set up your windows partition, install the required drivers, and it also lets windows boot properly on the mac (Mac's boot with EFI, PC's use BIOS to boot, so bootcamp simply allows windows to bypass EFI and use software BIOS to properly boot). So there you have it. No emulation. All you have to do to get into windows is restart the computer and boot into your windows partition instead of your mac partition.

» numbrer two is bs.
Anybody who's actually tech literate, go to the apple store and ask these 'geniouses' an actually hard to answer question.
For example -
what makes a mac to much better than pc's. Which don't crash, by the way.
