Here's a bit of good news for the guys who enjoy a bit of classic Nintendo gaming on their iPhone. Developer jonz has announced that NES.app homebrew application has been updated to version 2.2.4.

As its names implies, this NES.app is an emulator that will enable you to play games that were originally meant for the NES game system. Here are the latest changes since its previous release:

• Pulled out old landscape code, sick of maintaining it and some CoreSurface bugs in 2.0 make it very difficult
• Fixed button indicators to avoid cutting of gray border
• Added new landscape code, left-only rotation with transparency
• 2.2.3 [jonz]
• Fixed crashing between orientation changes
• 2.2.4 [jonz]
• Added aspect ratio option for landscape mode
• Optimizations for landscape rendering / stretch
• Adjusted alpha on landscape control to 20%
