If you have a thing for numbers (and even if you don't), you'll definitely find a good use for Marcio C. Almeida's Macalc homebrew application for the Apple iPhone. This scientific calculator program sports most of the standard features on any floating point and integer calculator, emulated for the Apple mobile device.

This latest 0.1.7 version of the app features a couple of added conversions, as well as fixes up a couple of bugs in the system. The developer also mentions that he plans on adding even more scientific, statistics, and finance functions in future updates of Macalc.

To install Macalc onto your iPhone, just copy the contents of the downloadable archive into the "/Applications" directory and set the execute bit of Macalc to run it from there. Afterwards, restart your phone and you should be able to access it normally from the  folder.
