MacBook Air - Image 1When the MacBook Air was first introduced, it received a mixed reaction from the mobile computing community. While others loved the features of the unit, there were those who complained about certain design decisions made by Apple.

Regardless, the unit seems to be selling pretty well. After a full month since the MacBook Air's initial introduction, demand for the unit appears to have increased.

Various Apple stores across the nation have reported that they're getting restocks almost everyday and yet they still keep running out of the notebook.

The same thing seems to be happening with other retailers such as BestBuy which is said to be a little thin on MacBook Air stock. Even online retailing giant Amazon seems to have some MacBook Air stock troubles and has halted shipping orders until March 16.

Some have speculated that Apple might not have ordered enough units from the manufacturer and that the unit shortage isn't an indication of the product's success. Numbers from the Apple Store sales rank widget, however, have indicated that MacBook Air has been outselling the MacBook, the iMac, and the MacBook Pro ever since February.

So far, Apple has yet to comment on the sales of the MacBook Air and its supply woes. Hopefully, we'll have an official statement to clarify the status of the notebook soon.
