Not long after the announcement of the first pre-release build for the upcoming Mac OS X 10.5.4 Update, Apple has once again revealed the details of a second build which will include several more fixes for Mac systems.Labeled 9E12, the new build will carry various code corrections that will fix the notorious bug which tends to leave some Macs hanging upon shutdown. Another bug that prevents applications from being assigned to Spaces via drag-and drop will also be addressed. As with its previously released updates, Apple advised developers to evaluate the new software broadly. In particular, the Cupertino-based company has listed the monitoring of nearly two dozen core components, including iLife compatibility, printing, networking, AirPort, and common applications such as Mail, iCal, and iChat. The 150MB Mac OS X 10.5.4 Update will be needed for Leopard users who wish to use the newly unveiled MobileMe service. Everyone can expect the software to be released a few weeks ahead of MobileMe's July 11 launch date. |
