It's no big surprise that the upcoming build for Mac OS X 10.5 will have over two dozen fixes included as its first update for Apple's newest operating system. The first build, labeled Mac OS X 10.5.1, will include fixes for many of the Leopard's applications, as well as some corrections to its email features.

The Cupertino-based Mac maker offered software developers access to Mac OS X 10.5.1 build 9B13 to help in the process. Among the applications that will be fixed include Firewall, Spotlight indexing, iCal syncing, Keychain login, Time Machine, Back To My Mac, Bonjour, AirPort, and text drawing corruption.

There was also a need to address the numerous bugs found with the email features in the initial release of the operating system. One of the biggest bugs that will be taken into consideration will be the data-loss bug linked to Finder, as well as the one which involves moving files across partitions.

While Apple has previously released a Seed Update which takes care of some of these issues, this upcoming build aims to take care of some of the major problems currently plaguing the OS. The new Mac OS X 10.5.1 is expected to be released within a few weeks' time.
