Despite receiving awards here and there, Apple has had many problems with its newest baby iPhone that includes hacking and lawsuits from various business entities around the world.

We got word today that Apple and partner AT&T was recently sued by Klausner Technologies with the latter claiming that the two infringe on its patent over Visual Voicemail service being offered to iPhone users.

The said case was filed in in a federal court in the Eastern District of Texas this Monday. Klausner is asking for damages and future royalties that amount to a whopping US$ 360 million.

"We have litigated this patent successfully on two prior occasions. With the signing of each new licensee, we continue to receive further confirmation of the strength of our visual voicemail patents," said the company's counsel Greg Dovel of law firm Dovel & Luner.

The Visual Voicemail feature is indeed owned by Klausner Technologies as stated in U.S Patents 5,572,576 and 5,283, 818. Time WarnerÂ?s AOL and Vonage Holdings have both lost to separate cases to Klausner over the same patents.
