Apple Computers CEO Steve Jobs has postponed a recently-scheduled trip to India, where he was expected to, among other things, catch up with the company's new tech support installation there. Sources say Jobs is simply waiting until the proposed tech center service in India is up and running before he visits.

Initial reports said Jobs was to have visited India the first week in April, a date that has been pushed back now to September. The push back gives the company a few more months to work on hiring the planned 3,000 workers to man the tech center. Those employees will handle most tech support questions in the future for all regions.

Jobs may have an ulterior motive in visiting India. In the 1970s, he visited India on a personal 'spiritual' quest before he returned to the States.
