macphone?MacRumors might have struck gold with its scoop on the highly-secretive Apple phone. While rumors have been healthily spewed regarding it the past couple of years, it is only now that we could finally look at the unit, or at least, an artist's rendition of it. Even Steve Jobs, known to be highly secretive about their products, have been unusually talkative about it.

Analysts have recently claimed that the Apple phone is essentially ready with a brief description. To wit: "The design will be an iPod nano-like candy bar form factor and come in three colors." A more detailed description of one of the prototypes have been provided by one of their reliable sources.

Preserving the iPod's click-wheel, it is relegated closer to the bottom of the device with the screen positioned vertically over it. It is said that the click-wheel portion of the device slides down to reveal a traditional numeric-dial pad underneath. Sounds swell. Because of the retained click-wheel feature, word is abuzz as well that iTunes would be capable of transferring the new iPod games to certain mobile phones. Wait, didn't Jobs also mention something about the games being designed for click-wheel playability?

With all these hype going around, we sure hope the Apple phone lives up to the expectations when it is born.
