It is awesome to think that you can have all your favorite things to do and see while traveling to the UK stored right on you iPod. Expodition is a company that has created a website that will do exactly that and more. It's called Pod SnapShots (PSS). These PSS will personalize your trip to the UK just by putting in a few details, all for fee of charge. And is compatible with any iPods that use the notes feature. When you go to the website (www.expodition.com) you will start a profile of yourself. Including favorite things to do, places to see, food, entertainment, etc. And based on that information it will set up lists of places that you might like to see, restaurants, and entertainment in the area you are traveling to. It will also give general information about public transportation, hotels, banks and other useful info. Rod Cambridge, founder of Expodition, comments: Â?With Expodition, we wanted to provide a service that works with a device many travelers canÂ?t bear to be without. On a recent trip to the US, I was surprised by the number of people I saw in the airport using iPods. With Pod SnapShots, people can accumulate first hand knowledge of a particular destination and its amenities and attractions before they even get there. We hope the service will appeal to tourists and also people living in and traveling around the UK.Â? |

Screensavers have always been kinda interesting too look at....for about 2 seconds and then the novelty wears off. But there is a new breed of screen saver that will actually interact with the music that you are playing. If you are playing soft and mellow music the image will enhance that mood, but if you are playing some heavy metal expect to see some pretty crazy images on your screen. So if you are a fan of art, this is a cool addition.
You can download some of these iTune visual plugins free. You can also download some more advanced plugins from Sonique (they have stopped development but you can still get them). Here are a few of the screensaver shots from the Sonique visualisation collection.

Well it seems Apple have given into consumer pressure, and also pressure from those taking a back door approach to running XP on Intel Mac's. As of today you can download a patch/application called Boot Camp from the Apple website which allows you to install Windows XP, only if you have the official install disks. What this means is, its an official way of installing, with more driver support, which overly means that people wont have to go through the long process of doing the install through the back door. The software also allows either operating system, Mac OS X or XP, to be booted on restart. It is announced that the software will be Incorporated as standard on the forthcoming Mac OS X v10.5 'Leopard'. The patch includes a step-by-step guide on doing the install, so pretty much anybody can use it. At the moment it will be a trial beta, and the full version will be included in Mac OS X v10.5 'Leopard' in its expected show off in August at the Worldwide Developer Conference. "Apple has no desire or plan to sell or support Windows, but many customers have expressed their interest to run Windows on Apple's superior hardware now that we use Intel processors," Philip Schiller, Apple senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, said in a statement. This just shows what power we as consumers have, and judging from it Apple aren't happy either. Apple's shares have risen 6% before markets opened, which shows the possible gain in Apple's future profits from Mac sales. What this may mean though is as sales of Mac's go up, apart from the included version of Mac OS X, external sales of the OS may be hit, so the company have both a gain and loss situation. There are some of us who Apple have kindly forgotten about when concerning recent updates. Its a shame how they forgotten about their most loyal and long term customers, but hey what you gonna do about it? This is what - EuPod. Now this works in the same sort of way as the official Apple version, however this works with any of the older models, plus it has other features such as number display for the battery, backup, encryption and also network sharing of the iPod. Good thing about this is its free, and as a very long user of this, I can safely say it worked for me. It allows the volume to be pushed up to 180% and on my 40GB 4th Gen the battery life on full volume is still well over 6 hours. I'll write a feature on headphones to compliment this volume increase, and if you pick your pair wisely, you will see there is no distortion in the sound. Oh, and finally, if you so wish, you can donate a few bucks to the maker, who will then invest that in a nice cold Larger. *Note* USA models are unaffected by the volume ban therefore this programme is intended for use by European models, also it only works with units upto 4G, after that you should use the official release by apple* |

Mac users of Ma.gnolia can now get a similarly nice looking Dashboard Widget to monitor the ever-growing list of bookmarks being posted to the service. The Widget scrolls the screen shots across horizontally, while the names of the sites display beneath. You can monitor your own bookmarks, or those from a specific group, or tag. Nice options, nice widget. |

As the popularity of Apple's iPod rises, so does volume level. Apple has come up with a solution especially for all the parents out there who are worries about there kids hearing.
You can now download a free maximum volume control for your iPod nano or fifth-generetion iPod. The download allows users to set maximum volume limits while listening to your favorite tunes. It also allows parents to set the volume limit and lock it with a combination code (sorry kids). |

Chax is a collection of minor mods and additions that make Apple's iChat easier and more enjoyable to use. Some of its highlights include the ability to set and show animated user icons, to force new chat windows to cascade instead of appear atop one another, and to organize tabbed chats - to keep all your chats together in one window (this one's particularly nifty). Best of all, it's a free download. |

So it's been a few years since Apple started offering free music downloads on Tuesdays. Nice way to find some new music and get a few free songs in your pocket. There were always a couple 'hidden' freebies each week, and over time I lost the iMixes that pointed them out, and would occasionally look on my own. But that takes too much effort. Now featuring video content, Apple has begun making limited-time video downloads available for free. I've grabbed a few, and they've done their job in whetting my appetite for the network-viewable edition of the show. But again, finding them can be the trick. Well no more, friends! There's a site that offers the free content, description, and an iTunes link to the show! Grab the RSS feed and be notified when there's a new freebie to be had. |
