Last June, Adobe made Flash Player 9 for both Macintosh and Windows. Now, Adobe has relased another version of the Flash Player 9 that is reported to work better with Intel-based Macs.According to Sydney Sloan, group product marketing manager of Adobe, the old Flash Player 9 version "has been rewritten to improve the performance and "expressiveness," or interactivity, of Flash applications." If that's the case, then Intel-based Mac users could expect a far better performance from the newly-released Flash Player 9. Say bye-bye to creepy dialog boxes informing you that your current flash player couldn't support a certain flash presentation. Interested Mac users can get their hands on the new Adobe Flash Player 9 by clicking on the link below. Download: [New Version of Flash Player 9 for Intel-based Macs] |

Aren't you glad that we live in a day and age that embraces individuality. To each his own-whatever floats your boat-your cup of tea lifestyle also transcends to our web life. Please, do not accept default as the norm. That is simply unacceptable.
Let us take for example the OS X Safari. Others may dismiss it and go for a Firefox instead. After all, with its extensibility, growing user base, near flawless page rendering and open source nature, it is proving to be quite a challenge for its competitors and a win-win situation for users. However, one thing that Safari can boast of is its browser load time and page rendering that Firefox doesn't even come close to. Just remember that sometimes the most bland outfit can be pulled off using the right accessories. Details are key. Same with these very useful applications, you can use to make your Safari the most happening browser out there. Inquisitor 2.6 David Watanabe's Inquisitor, offers both live search and recommended search terms in this integrated search bar that provides quick access to popular search engines. You can also make a custom search string, making it convenient for you to create custom search shortcuts. Download: [Free Demo of Inquisitor]
Saft is a Safari Safari plugin to add features like draggable tabs, full-screen browsing, searchable bookmarks and history, URL shortcuts, kiosk mode and more. It has been praised and given high scores by trusted names in the business. It has received a 4 and a half out of five rating from Macworld SF in 2005. SafariStand for Tiger
It offers quite a hefty sum of features considering it wouldn't cost you a single cent.
It has the ability to root the DOM hierarchy when you double click on a node to go deeper. This allows you to easily manage large nested pages and focus on a particular sub-tree with minimal indentation. Download: [WebKit Latest Version (July 18, 2006)] |

In case you are in the dark about Adium, it is a multi-chat account client with tons of customizable options, which is such a joy if you IM a lot. This one can connect to MSN Messenger, AIM, Jabber, Yahoo and the likes. With that said, if you have this app installed in your Mac, you won't have to travel from one window to another since this baby gets you covered. Before you download this one the Adium guys just want to remind you that "backing up a copy of the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/ before using betas or alphas is probably a good idea." Here are some things that are new in this version: * Major AIM, ICQ and .Mac improvements. This includes working File Transfer, and faster sign on. Since this is still a beta version, there are still some issues in v1.0b1. The bugs list includes some problems receiving some ICQ messages and an irregular crash on mac OS X 10.3.9 in the log viewer. This latest version also has a large download size, but it's all for the good - size is due to the inclusion of debugging info. Download: [Adium X 1.0b1] |

MenuMeters is a set of CPU, memory disk and network monitoring tools for the Mac OS X from Raging Menace. It is under the GNU General Public License, making it free for all. What sets it apart from other monitors that uses the menubar is that most of those monitors use the NSStatusItem API while MenuMeters uses SystemUIServer plugins (Menu Extras), meaning they can be re-ordered using command-drag and remember their positions in the menubar across log-ins and restarts. Other notable features of the MenuMeter is that the CPU meter can display system load, either as a total percentage or broken out as user and system time. It is hotplug aware, and will show activity on FireWire and USB disks as they are mounted. The Memory Meter can display current memory usage as either a pie chart, thermometer, history graph, or as used/free totals. You can even optionally display a paging indicator light. While the Net Meter can display network throughput as arrows, bytes per second, and/or as a graph. You will need MacOS X 10.2 (Jaguar), MacOS X 10.3 (Panther), or MacOS X 10.4 (Tiger) or PowerPC or Intel based Macintosh (Universal Binary) to install this monitor. And if you are installing over an older version of MenuMeters make sure to logout and login after installation in order to load the new version. Download: [MenuMeters] |

Welcome another web browser to the Browser's Brawl. DeskBrowse boasts of a strong focus on workflow, stability and speed. As well as being lightweight in comparison to other available browsers. Taking inspiration from Apple's Window Drawers, they decided to integrate a small panel that slides from the side of the screen. They made this a part of DeskBrowse's two modes namely SlideBrowser mode and Webspose, in which the user is placed in sort of "kiosk-mode" web environment. This is ideal if you have a shared computer. In this mode you can let others browse the web safely without any harm coming to your system. It is built on WebKit KHTML engine, one of the only engines to have passed the prestigious Acid2 test as well as other tests such as the Scanit Browser Security Test. It is released under the GNU Public License, which means it's free to use, distribute, modify and improve. Download: [DeskBrowse] |
