DiscoIn a fit of information generosity (or maybe it was just gas), the guys behind the radical Mac application Disco have just revealed pretty much everything that their sweet little project can do.

OK, first off, just what exactly is Disco? Essentially, it's a CD burning application, but the cool thing about it is that it's all about simplicity. Less clicks, less hassle, no more overwhelming options that you don't even understand. According to the Disco team, the app will work "how you expect it to, when you expect it to Â? and it is able to do this through its elegant and simple interface that is heavily iconic, satisfying, and workflow based."

Sounds pretty good so far. Let's take a look at the features, shall we? Like we said before, Disco presents users with a very user-friendly interface. Burning a file disc is as simple as inserting a blank disc into your CD drive, dragging the file you want burned onto a list and then clicking burn. Same goes for burning discs based off an image. Wanna burn multiple copies? Hit reburn and keep feeding your disc drive more discs. What if you want to create session discs? Merely enable appendability when you burn a disc and you're all set.

Imaging works just as simply as all the other features. When you're done creating the list of files you want burned, just hit 'image' instead of 'burn.' That's it. Users can choose from a number of image formats including CDR, ISO, and DMG. If you're one of those obsessive-compulsive people who just have to have one burner dedicated to one particular type of CD, fret not because multiple burners don't pose a problem to Disco, too. It has a pop-up that lets you choose which burner you want to use.

Now, here's one cool thing about this app. If your files won't fit on one disc, Disco can determine if it's possible to span them over multiple discs. Disco will instantly notify you how many discs you'll need and then it's feeding time once again. Really, it's all pretty much drag-click-feed. Simple, but it looks mighty effective.

Lastly, Disco has full motion sensor support. Now maybe you're thinking to yourself, "Why would a CD burning application have motion sensing features?" See, this feature allows Disco to determine and notify you if and when movement is affecting the integrity and speed of your burn. What's great about it is that the sensing engine can actually learn from your movements and can tell if you're just moving your computer to a different location or if you're actually moving it around enough to cause problems.

What a great load of features, eh? You get all that plus a bunch of cool little extras with Disco. If you're looking for software that can make your eyes bleed from the sheer complexity then this is definitely not the one you're looking for. But wait, that's not all, because the Disco team is still keeping the lid on one more thing. No ideas yet on what it could be (hot dancing girls? free pc-mountable Pez dispenser?), but we'll definitely keep our eyes on this one.
