ZappTek has just released iPod It v2.5, an OS X application that allows the transfer of PIM data (from Entourage, Stickies, Mail, Address Book, and iCal) to your iPod for easy, on-the-go access. With this application, downloaded weather forescasts and news headlines can also be stored directly on your iPod. iPod It supports all s of the iPod with firmware v1.1 or better with varying levels of functionality/mode.

Kainjow has recently released the latest version of Pod2Go, v1.5.  This Mac OS X program lets you move a variety of content to your iPod, such as movie showtimes, driving directions, news feeds, weather reports, lyrics and more.  The new additions in v1.5 are the ability to view local gas prices, along with importing music from the iPod back to the computer, a new directions tool, and more.  Also announced on the site is a iPod nano giveaway, in celebration of Pod2Go’s 3rd anniversary.

Harman Kardon has launched a new device aimed at iPod users who donÂ?t have a cassette deck in their car stereo to allow them to enjoy their hard drive based player.

Called Drive + Play, the unit promises complete iPod control, including full browsing and playlist handling capability, while minimizing distractions for drivers.

The unit comes in three pieces; a control knob, a LCD display and a box of tricks that Harman Kardon is calling a Â?BrainÂ?.

The backlit LCD screen, large enough to present five lines of iPod menu text and attaches to your dashboard. The five-button navigation control unit with universal mounting options mimics the iPodÂ?s user interface and can be mounted on the center console or other location for easy access while driving. The controller features four buttons that control the play/pause, forward, backward and iPod menu functions; a rotating dial around the perimeter that can be used for forward and backward scrolling; and a center button for the Â?enterÂ? command.

3. Â?The brainÂ? serves as an information processor and connecting port. The brain houses a wired FM transmitter with five factory-set frequencies and one definable by the user. It will also offer a 3.5mm audio output jack. The Drive + Play charges the iPod when docked.

Harman Kardon has yet to set a price for the Drive + Play, however the company estimates it will cost in the region of £169 and include a voucher to have it professional installed. It is likely to be available in November 2005.

SendStation has unvield their latest product, SmartCharge. SmartCharge is a car charger for the iPod Shuffle, featuring 72 degree swivel, built in LED power indicator, built in 3.5mm (1/8?) stereo audio jack, and the official ?Made for iPod? badge. No word on the pricing or availability yet, they just state that it will be ?available soon from (their) convenient online store.?

Belkin tomorrow will announce the TuneSync, a new iPod accessory that combines a dock for syncing/charging your iPod and a five-port USB 2.0 hub.

Now you can stream a podcast to your SprintPCS phone using Pod 2 Mobile's Pod2Mob software, which is currently in beta. The company says it only works with SprintPCS because "they have the best data package," which allows for unlimited data transfer - handy for streaming long-winded podcasts.
