Developer BigBoss' iPhone homebrew Categories made a huge leap recently, bumping up its version number to 2.11. The latest iteration includes a lot of new updates which helps improve the application's functionality by a huge degree.

For those of you not familiar with Categories, it basically allows you to organize the icons on your iPhone or iPod touch into different customizable categories. For instance, instead of scrolling through all your apps just to find a certain game, you can now place them under a single category represented by an icon.

One of the new changes in Categories 2.11 involves an option to add the older icons from categories for firmware 1.1.4. This may mean that the dev may soon make other icon packages available in future releases. In addition, you can now finally change the name of your created categories or its icon.

To download the latest release of Categories, just search for the app on the BigBoss repository through Cydia.
