For the less-organized of us who can't seem to get their desktop icons all arranged neatly and in perfect order, here's a convenient little app from Apple homebrew developer Karsten: Camouflage, a program that hides your desktop icons and leaves nothing but the wallpaper. Simple, easy, and neat - and certainly way more time-effective than painstakingly re-arranging every icon to your exact specifications.

So, how does one use Camouflage? Two ways: you can use a hotkey to activate/deactivate the hiding process, or just double-click the Camouflaged desktop to open a Finder window that lists your desktop icons for your convenience. The former isn't recommended, as it pretty much ruins the point of Camouflage. The latter is definitely better, as it keeps your desktop neat while giving you an easy way to find your icons when you need them.

Once more, as with all quality homebrew releases - if you like it, then why not donate a few bucks to the cause? It takes only a minute of your time and a small amount of dough, but it certainly goes a long way towards app development.
