Braille Display Update 1.0 - increases support for refreshable displays - Image 1One of the more amazing things that can be found in Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard is the screen reading technology incorporated for the blind called VoiceOver.

In a nut shell, the feature supports a variety of refreshable Braille displays. VoiceOver works by detecting whatever Braille display it finds connected to your computer. It then sends the information on the screen.

Apple, now, has just released an add-on called Braille Display Update 1.0 that expands the support for the following:
  • GW Micro BrailleSense
  • GW Micro SyncBraille 20
  • GW Micro SyncBraille 32
  • HandyTech Easy Braille
  • HandyTech Braille Star 40
  • HandyTech Braille Star 80
  • HIMS BrailleSense
  • HIMS SyncBraille 20
  • HIMS SyncBraille 32
  • Nippon Telesoft Seika Version 3
  • Papenmeier Braillex Trio
Those who are interested can download the file over at the official Apple support page via the source link below.
