Sonneteer??s got the goods on the real deal. Their Bardaudio line of products does wireless streaming of uncompressed audio at full wireless bandwidth, sending up to 8 channels of stereo via pure 2.4 GHz with forward error correction. There are three main products in the line: BardOne, which consists of a transmitter at the source and receiver at the amp or AV receiver end, BardUSB which is essentially the transmitter half of BardOne that plugs into a USB 1.1 port to act as a soundcard, and BardThree, a replacement for the BardOne receiver that includes a 25W RMs amplifier so you can plug your speakers directly into it. The options are pricey, though ?? $825 for the BardOne, $599 for a BardUSB/BardOne Rx pair, and $700 for a BardUSB/BardThree combo. But if you really gotta turn it up to 11 hi-fi style, and you gotta do it wirelessly, these may be turning your head regardless |

Once in a long while, an iPod add-on unlike any other emerges from nowhere, taking the world entirely by surprise. Ignitek??s iCarrier ($249.99) is one such accessory: standing a bit over three feet tall, occupying about a square foot of floor space, and weighing around 20 pounds, iCarrier is billed as a ??true hi-fidelity home sound system compatible with all Apple iPods.? While the hi-fi claim might be stretching things a bit, it??s unquestionably an impressive enough display piece that homes and businesses might consider it worthwhile on aesthetics alone.

![]() Maybe it's just my sci-fi minded nature, but when someone says the word "tripod" the first images that comes to mind are disintegration rays and the end of the world as we know it. Yanko Design has released the Boomtune Mini Tripod that is a combination stand and speaker system for your iPod (actually works with any MP3 player.) One AAA player will power this little guy for 10 hours, which is enough time to demolish at least three metropolitan cities. If we had the time, money, and inclination we'd hire Spielberg to remake War of the Worlds with these little guys, with Lego people. Oh - and a Smurf Village, burning in flames too, covered in "blue weed." That would ROCK. |
