Apple unveils Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Release 1 - Image 1Here's a quick update for the Apple owners out there. We're sending word that the company has released Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Release 1, and should be now be available for download at the official site.

This update will add support for Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_05, and won't change the default version of Java. Just keep in mind that this update is strictly for Mac OS X v10.5.2 and above, and is for 64-bit Intel-based Macs.

This update isn't valid for lower Mac OS X updates, and for PowerPC-based or 32-bit Intel-based Macs.

Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 1 will require about 57 MB of space. That's all we've got to report for the moment - drop by again in case more related news is announced.
