In the upcoming Macworld Expo, Apple will once again prod its way into the sub-notebook waters with the entry of their new ultra-compact Apple notebook, a 13-inch notebook that puts a strong emphasis in saving battery power. Equipped with LCD display panels with LED backlights and on-board NAND flash drives, this new, slimmer notebook is guaranteed not to consume as much energy as most other laptops.

However, the optical drive is left out in this particular model to let the manufacturers slim down the machines as well as lessening power consumption even further. Without the optical drives and with the use of flash drives, the number of moving parts in this new Apple notebook is lessened, thus making it less prone to damages and...yes, save on battery consumption.

 » um....

how would I recover my computer if I didn't have an external hard drive? Wouldn't I NEED that install disk WHICH REQUIRES AN OPTICAL DRIVE?
