While Apple's well-founded "life is random" tagline for the iPod Shuffle may have gotten it a lot of sales for its bite-sized portable media device, the lack of a proper interface may leave some users with problems on how to correct the occasional glitch in the system.

Fortunately, the Apple support team was able to come up with a way to restore the factory settings to your iPod Shuffle just in case it gets bricked. The iPod Reset Utility 1.0.4 is compatible with both the first and second generation of iPods.

You can run the application from Windows after plugging in your device to your PC's USB slot. Please take note that this will completely erase all the music and data on your iPod Shuffle, as well as replace the current software in it. There still hasn't been word of a version for the Mac OS X, but we'll make sure to cover it once it's released.
